Any solo or multiple performer act, including, but not limited to: song, dance, skit, clown routine, magic act, ventriloquism, puppetry, juggling exhibition, or master of ceremonies. There will be time allowed for discussion at the end of the showcase.
We hope to schedule showcases again in late June and September, to provide a do-it-yourself salon of performance art with an emphasis on vaudeville type variety acts, physical comedy and nouveau clown. However, SPACE IS LIMITED!
FOR ALL ACTS, NEW OR ESTABLISHED: You must submit a proposal. A proposal is just a brief description of your act or skill, and possibly a conversation with the curator, Steven Lampredi. Please do not let this requirement deter you! Your desire to perform and a specific idea will likely be enough to put you on the program, even if it is a new, untested piece. You may request a five or a ten minute slot. Do not request a ten minute slot unless you are really confident that you need that amount of time to get your idea across and satisfy the audience.
FOR NEW, OR DEVELOPING ACTS: If you have a concept or premise for a piece, no matter how basic it might be, you may request a development session which would be scheduled ahead of the showcase date. Steven Lampredi, a theater professional with experience in music, clown, directing and collaborative work, will give you feedback and work with you to stimulate your creativity and shape your piece, make music suggestions, and bring out your inherent genius through physicality.
IMPORTANT: For development sessions, you should be sure to bring those items required to present your act including music, props and costumes.
Please read guidelines before signing up.
